Belly/Ballet

This class uses ballet barre and floor exercises to develop the strength and good posture that is necessary for progressing in belly dance. We also work on torso isolations –shoulder rib-cage, hips and proper arm positioning. Basic belly dance movements and combinations are taught and we work on recognizing common Arabic dance rhythms. We will learn a full belly dance choreography to perform in the recital. Time-wise we will spend about 1/3 of each class with ballet exercise and the remainder learning belly dance movement.
