Yasmeen Winston

is 22 years old. Her hobbies consist of painting, drawing, writing poetry, photography and dancing.

Yasmeen has been dancing and performing as well as acting in theatrical plays at Wheelock College and M.I.T since the age of 6. At the age of 13 Yasmeen went from performing in local talent shows to choreographing and coordinating her own local talent shows. She began teaching at the age of 14 with the Boston Housing Authority “Youth on the Rise” program that teaches inner city youth how to build up their self esteem  through the arts. She taught at the Needham Dance Theatre and here at the TWDC assisting dancer/choreographer Damita Johnson.

Her training has included many types of dance including African, ballet and jazz. She graduated from Pine Manor College with a BA in visual arts and a minor in dance.

This year Yasmeen is proud to be teaching her own classes at the TWDC. She wishes to continue teaching the youth street hip hop in the near future.

Her ultimate goal is to continue her career in the performing arts and join a dance company.
