Class Attire

Wear the appropriate attire and shoes, based on the class, as listed below. Hair should be neatly pulled back. For ballet, girls’ hair must be in a bun. For children: No Jewelry except for small earrings.

BALLET ATTIRE

Girls:   

Appropriate class leotard (see at right)
Pink tights
Pink ballet slippers
Ballet sweater, if necessary
First Steps: May wear pink ballet skirts

Boys:  

White tee shirt
Black tights or jazz pants
Black or white ballet slippers

Leotard must be EUROTARD style 1093

ATTIRE FOR OTHER CLASSES

Tights or black jazz pants, black leotard and appropriate black dance shoes will work for all other classes. No street shoes are allowed in any class. Specifically:

  • Ballet/Tap – Black leotard and tights for girls. Black tights or jazz pants and white tee shirt for boys. Black ballet slippers (pink ok for girls, white ok for boys) and black tap shoes.

  • Belly Dance – Stretching leggings, jazz or yoga pants and a tight top or leotard. Socks or ballet slippers. Hip wrap — can use a light-weight shawl or purchase one from the teacher.

  • Gymnastics/Dance-nastics – Girls: A leotard, same color as ballet class, otherwise black. Boys: Black or white fitted t-shirt. Shorts or dance pants. Bare feet are preferred, ballet or jazz shoes are also acceptable. If girls have ballet on the same day, footless or convertible tights are recommended.

  • Hip Hop – Black jazz pants, fitted t-shirt with no words and dance sneakers (not worn outside). NO STREET CLOTHING in class.

  • Jazz – Black jazz pants, black leotard, black jazz shoes.

  • Mexican – Leotard and tights or a shirt with shorts/jazz pants. Teacher provides skirts. Folklórico or character shoes for girls, folklórico or flamenco boots for boys. Teacher can provide shoes or order if students want their own.

  • Modern – Black jazz pants, leotard or yoga shirt, bare feet

  • Salsa – Comfortable clothes. Jazz shoes or dance sneakers preferred. Socked feet ok for children.

  • Tap – Comfortable clothes. Black tap shoes.

  • Adult ClassesBe ready to move and sweat! OK to wear jazz pants, dance skirts, leg warmers, solid color tee shirt, form-fitting sweater, dance shoes or sneakers (worn in studio only). NO street shoes.

  • Dance Team Classes – Black leotard or same color as your ballet class, appropriate tights/pants and shoes based on style of class.
